Keeping It Simple

In 2007 I sat across from my doctor as he went on explaining how "complicated" my case was, how he needed more "tests". I remember as my heart sank. I didn't feel complicated, I just hurt and I wanted answers. I left that day feeling discouraged, frustrated, and without hope.

I didn't expect all the answers but it's called a “practice” for a reason, just didn't want to be called "complicated". I felt my doctor should have checked his ego at the door and admitted he don’t know everything instead of labeling my case "complicated".

Personally, I never will know all there is to know within my own practice, but that's ok...there is a lot of research and information out there.

Sitting in the clinic I try not to get caught up in that web of "I don't knows". It blinds me from accessing what I DO know.

Simple things often do get missed. I can’t even count the number of cases I’ve seen in the clinic when no one took the time to analyze the essentials of daily living, breathing patterns, even just simply, range of motion. So if the simple evaluation isn't even conducted how can one be deemed complicated?

I truly want the “hard” cases to come to clinic, so I can search for the simplicity others missed by casting someone off as a “complicated case.”

For me, you aren’t complicated. I'm willing to take the time and find the simple answers to a "complicated" case. I am after all a healer. I am still in "practice" to help people feel better, move better, and perform better.

My philosophy...improve the simple, and the complication often diminishes.

Be passionate...take action....
